The tower was built by the Communists at the end of "their" time of rule in the Czech Republic. People hated this structure. It did not match anything about Prague, but the Communists often loved to just pour salt in wounds, and did so with this Monstrosity. The tower can be seen from every location in Prague, it is that huge.
Initially, and still, a radio tower, when it was built, people suspected it was to listen in on the West. It now serves as a TV broadcast tower, with a restaurant mid way up.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, David Černy's babies can be seen (in a future post), climbing up and down this structure.
