Náměstí Míru Metro Station

Náměstí Míru, means Peace Square and is the deepest Metro station in the Prague Metro System, which makes up three separate lines. Its platform is situated 53 metres below surface. This is the escalator as it looks from the bottom looking up to the top.

This station is equipped with one of the longest escalators in Europe (length 87 m, vertical span 43 m, 533 steps, and takes 2 minutes and 15 seconds to ascend or descend without walking). That's 285 Ft! Almost as long as an American Football Field!

Náměstí Míru, however, is not the deepest point within the Prague Metro network; this record belongs to the tunnel between Hradčanská and Malostranská stations (68 m below surface), not that YOU know where THAT is!
