Karlstejn Castle hosts its annual Wine Festival this weekend and that is where I went on this Beautiful Cold Saturday morning.
It was very cold as I boarded the train for the 40 minute ride south, but around Noon, I found I certainly did not need the sweater and sweatshirt any longer...and longed for just a t-shirt.
I really enjoy this Vinobrani, since the walk up to the Castle gate is quite long, steep and Invigorating. The Castle is filled with Actors in Period Dress as well as "Monks" dressed in robes and skull caps, pouring out litres of Burčák and wine to Castle visitors. Including me. Just a great time.
...ever notice how all Castles are way up on the top of a Hill(Mountain)!
